Happy Start of Summer
It’s an American tradition to mark the start of Summer with cookouts and gatherings during Memorial Day weekend. While we normally honor those who made sacrifices in military service, our flags stood at half-mast for the entire weekend to also recognize the significant losses we are currently suffering to COVID-19. This year struck a particularly somber tone with the additional memorials and most people respecting guidelines for social distancing. Uncertainty surrounding risks and best practices makes it difficult to make plans even into the Fall. However, there is a universal longing for access to the services and amenities that we expect. One way we can feel more normal is to work on community projects that are still available.
The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs aims to bring information to our postdocs at MSU and ensure that we hear and address the needs of the community. Our website is slowly evolving to match these goals. We want to hear from you, and we want your input and content. Think about what you would like to see when you visit the site. Share your background and your stories. Tell us your expectations for our office and your overall experience at MSU. If you would like to get involved in any way, please email opa@grd.msu.edu.
