The National Science Foundation now requir es broader impact plans as a part of grant proposals, and in some cases, fellowship applications. Dr. Susan Renoe and Dr. Sara Vassmer of the Nati onal Alliance for Broader Impacts will overview the broader impact criteri a, share examples of innovative approaches, and highlight the key points graduate and professional students need to know as they start their resea rch careers.
