Workshop: Essential Skills for a Career in Industry
Get a head start on what you need to get a job and be successful!
Are you ready for a career in industry?
What is the private sector really like?
What will your manager expect from you?
Will you enjoy working in industry?
If you have these questions, this workshop will give you answers. Come learn how working in the private sector is different than your experience in academic research, and more importantly, learn the skills and working habits you need to be successful.
We will also cover some topics that are important for success in industry, but not usually taught in a science or engineering degree.
Finally, we will talk about how to get past some of the job search challenges you may be worried about, such as the online job search, networking, and hard interview questions.
