Dr. Howard Steven son (Constance Clayton Professor of Urban Education & Professor of African a Studies, University of Pennsylvania) will present an evidence-based fra mework for addressing diversity and racial stress and climate in the class room beneficial to students and professionals. Hidden racial conflicts and racial stress undermine healthy classroom environments and student achiev ement, particularly for students of color. Educators will find workable s trategies for improving their racial literacy skills and addressing stress ful encounters when they occur, particularly in face-to-face situations.
