Facilitat ors will moderate discussion around student identities and how they intera ct/connect to the classroom experience. Participants will critically engag e with their own identities as a starting point to develop awareness of st udent identities in the classroom. Facilitators hope to promote 1) the ide a of the intersectionality of identities that a single student embodies, and 2) the idea of the intersectionality of a myriad of identities from al l of the students that are present in a given learning environment. Variou s student identities and their intersections will be discussed in order to explore best practices in creating anti-oppressive classrooms and optimiz ing student learning.
