Based upon an internationally recognize d evidence-based mentoring training curriculum (http://www.researchmentort raining.org/), this workshop is designed to provide participants with som e of the most important skills and ideas required for high-level mentoring of undergraduate or graduate students in a research environment. This wi ll be an ideal, in-depth professional development experience for graduate students or postdocs who will be mentoring research assistants over the s ummer months. Graduate students and postdocs will have the opportunity to come learn about (and share) best practices in mentoring research assista nts. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and share st rategies about the most effective way to both provide students with an exc ellent learning experience and get their own work done.
