IQ Great Lakes Molecular Sciences Summer Courses
In 2019 IQ and Western University launched the Great Lakes Advanced Molecular Sciences (GLAMS) Summer Courses with an Advanced Molecular Imaging Course and are now reviving these summer courses, after the COVID-imposed hiatus. The 2024 offerings include courses in advanced microscopy, stem cell and organoid biology andmolecular imaging and we encourage you to look at the course content and encourage colleagues and trainees to register for courses that peak their interests and help advance their research. The course content, schedules and registration can be found on the IQ website at: https://iq.msu.edu/glams2024/ and we are certain you will find the content compelling.
The premise for these courses is that there is often a need to rapidly acquire new skills and knowledge in an adjacent field to help expand and augment your research in an environment where one can learn from experts. These advanced courses have been developed for graduate students, postdocs and early-career faculty who would like to acquire new skills. Experienced, highly skilled undergraduates may also find these courses to be useful—but they should check with the course directors. Each course is 3-5 days long and is taught between June 20th to 30th , 2024 in Holland Michigan—near the beaches of Lake Michigan. Faculty from IQ and Western University have coordinated these courses and have invited instructors and keynote lectures from around the country who are among the world’s experts. The structure of the courses is immersive and engaging with lectures in the morning, hands-on experiments and demos in the afternoon, and keynote lectures in the evening—the courses, and the events around the courses, are designed to help build a network of colleagues and resources that will help advance scientific careers.
Although these courses are supported, in part, by industrial partners, foundations and participating Universities, there are registration fees and housing costs for these courses—see the website for details. Registration costs will increase after May 1. All meals are provided for the duration of the course for which you register.
